Dear Parents, Patients,  Friends and Colleagues,

This is going to be a very sad letter and very happy letter.

First the sad part, Dr. Grossman unexpectedly passed away July 27th, 2016 of pancreatic cancer.  Although he practiced June 30th, over the 4th of July weekend he was admitted to the hospital and he passed away 23 days later.  We were fortunate that he could see many of his friends and his staff before this vial disease took him from us.  He loved his work and so enjoyed knowing and caring for his patient families for nearly 40 years.   Please find Dr. Grossman’s obituary in the Sacramento Bee, (dated July 30th).

Now for the very happy part, we have found an accomplished, energetic pediatric dentist to care for our patients, Dr. Dmitriy Pivnik.  We are so delighted to welcome him as the new owner of Gold River Pediatric Dentistry (GRPD).  He is going to take wonderful care of all our patients and honor the legacy that has been developed by Dr.  Grossman.  He will continue to honor the individual attention that we have provided to each and every child these many years.

Dr. Pivnik is from the San Francisco Bay area; he attended the University of California at Berkley for his undergraduate degree, and he received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery at UCSF Dental School, (the same alma mater as Dr. Grossman).  Dr. Pivnik completed his Pediatric Specialist training at NYU-Lutheran Medical Center in Springfield Missouri.  He has a passion for working with special needs children and adults and we are sure you will all enjoy getting to know him.

In his spare time, Dr. Pivnik enjoys camping, exploring new hiking trails, and winter ski terrains of the Tahoe area.  Dr. Pivnik will provide a professional and confident environment to help comfort children of all ages while delivering excellent clinical care.

Our national-park theme office will continue to thrive under Dr. Pivnik’s leadership and the Smilerangers will be here ready to welcome you at your upcoming dental visits.
